Anthropic scales enterprise AI push with PwC, 30,000 staff to be trained on Claude

In a significant move to advance enterprise AI, Anthropic has deepened its collaboration with PwC, committing to train 30,000 PwC professionals on its Claude AI models. This partnership is part of a broader trend where consulting firms and AI companies are vying to transform how major corporations implement artificial intelligence in sectors such as finance, cybersecurity, and software development. The initiative will see the introduction of Claude Code and Claude Cowork tools across PwC's workforce, ultimately aiming to reach 'hundreds of thousands' of employees worldwide. Additionally, the two firms will establish a joint Centre of Excellence dedicated to enhancing enterprise AI deployment. The urgency of this collaboration arises from the need for companies to upgrade outdated systems and workflows—inefficiencies which consulting firms estimate are costing businesses over $2 trillion annually. Both PwC and Anthropic believe that this partnership will enable organizations to restructure their core business processes around AI-driven operating models. Dario Amodei, co-founder and CEO of Anthropic, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "PwC has been at the forefront of AI's integration into sectors where precision and dependability are critical, such as financial services and cybersecurity. The results are evident: what used to take weeks can now be accomplished in days or even minutes. We're thrilled to empower PwC's vast workforce with Claude." Paul Griggs, US Senior Partner and CEO at PwC, noted that discussions surrounding AI are evolving from mere exploration to practical application. He remarked, "Clients are actively seeking secure and responsible AI solutions that yield measurable results in complex business landscapes. Our partnership with Anthropic blends superior AI capabilities with PwC's industry knowledge, facilitating impactful enterprise-wide transitions." As part of this expanded partnership, PwC will also introduce a specialized “Office of the CFO” unit focused on leveraging Anthropic’s Claude platform for regulated industries like banking and healthcare. This unit will spearhead finance transformation efforts such as automating journal entries and redesigning comprehensive finance functions. Currently, Claude is being utilized in various areas, including professional sports operations, insurance underwriting, and cybersecurity, with some clients reporting enhancements in delivery times by up to 70%. This collaboration highlights a growing trend of AI firms aligning with consulting services to shape the future of enterprise technology. Earlier this month, Anthropic revealed a separate $1.5 billion venture with Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, and Goldman Sachs Asset Management to facilitate large-scale deployment of its AI solutions, further illustrating the momentum in this sector. Meanwhile, rival OpenAI has also formed alliances with major consulting firms, reinforcing the competitive landscape of AI in enterprise settings.
