In 2025, urban Indians are experiencing a significant shift in how they access services, with convenience becoming the new norm. Thanks to the rise of quick-commerce, residents can now order a variety of items from an app and receive them in mere minutes. This trend has reshaped consumer expectations, leading to a surge in startups focused on delivering everything from food to electronics at lightning speed. One such startup, Pronto, based in New Delhi, is revolutionizing the home service sector by enabling users to book cleaning, laundry, and other household services within just 10 minutes. This remarkable approach has caught the attention of investors, resulting in a staggering 3.6 times increase in its valuation in less than three months. Back in May, Pronto secured a $2 million seed investment at a valuation of $12.5 million. The company has now successfully raised an $11 million Series A funding round, bringing its post-money valuation to $45 million, co-led by General Catalyst and Glade Brook Capital, with participation from existing investor Bain Capital Ventures. This influx of funding comes on the heels of impressive growth metrics, with Pronto reporting a near five-fold increase in revenue since its launch just a few months earlier. Founder and CEO Anjali Sardana revealed to TechCrunch that the startup is now processing daily bookings in the four digits and anticipates an annual recurring revenue between $750,000 and $1.5 million. Sardana attributes the rapid funding to two key factors: the startup's momentum and its swift scaling capabilities. Investors have recognized the quality of the team and their execution speed, leading to early investment decisions. Rahul Garg, a partner at General Catalyst, praised Sardana's accomplishments, noting her impressive background and the positive feedback from both supply partners and customers. Pronto isn't alone in its mission; other startups like Snabbit and Urban Company are also exploring the domestic worker market. Garg highlighted the vast potential in India, where around 180 to 190 million nuclear families represent a significant customer base, supported by a workforce of 35 million capable of tapping into a $35 billion wage pool in this sector. Currently, Pronto operates six hubs in Gurugram, up from two in May, strategically positioned to serve customers within a 1.5-mile radius. The startup initially focused on densely populated areas, meeting 70% to 80% of demand within 500 meters, but has since expanded to optimize service delivery across a broader range of neighborhoods. With a customer base primarily consisting of working professionals, the demand for household help is on the rise. Looking ahead, Pronto plans to continue its expansion within Gurugram and venture into new markets, including Mumbai, Bengaluru, and other major cities, over the next 12 to 18 months. The startup currently employs 33 staff members and has approximately 750 workers registered on its platform.
