Prime Video drops full trailer forSpider-Noir

Prime Video has just unveiled the full trailer for its much-anticipated live-action series, Spider-Noir, during the CCXPMX26 event in Mexico City this weekend. Much like the initial teaser that premiered back in February, the trailer is available in two visually striking formats: one in classic black and white, reminiscent of Raymond Chandler's detective stories, and another in vibrant color, dubbed “True Hue” by the series' creators. The Spider-Noir character, originally introduced by Marvel Comics in 2009, reimagines beloved Marvel heroes within a gritty alternate universe, typically set against the backdrop of the Great Depression in the United States. This character, voiced by Nicolas Cage, made a memorable appearance in the acclaimed animated films, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Across the Spider-Verse (2023). Cage is also set to reprise his role in the forthcoming Beyond the Spider-Verse. Co-showrunner Oren Uziel, who shares directing duties with Steve Lightfoot, has a deep appreciation for film noir, making the Marvel series an appealing project for him. Although the live-action adaptation remains rooted in the 1930s New York setting, the protagonist is not the well-known Peter Parker. Uziel felt that Parker's character was too closely tied to a youthful high school persona to suit the darker tone of noir storytelling. Instead, Cage takes on the role of Ben Reilly, a tough private investigator with a hidden superhero alter ego, The Spider. According to the official synopsis, Spider-Noir follows Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a weary private eye navigating the challenges of 1930s New York. After experiencing a deeply personal tragedy, he must confront his past while embodying the city’s lone superhero.
