Porsche adds digital keys, in-car gaming to 2026 Macan Electric

Both Android and iPhone users can now create a digital key for the vehicle, with iPhone users also having the option to add the key to their Apple Watch. This functionality utilizes near-field communication, Bluetooth low energy, and ultra-wideband technology, allowing for seamless access to the vehicle. Furthermore, owners can share access with up to seven additional users directly from their phone's wallet. In addition to unlocking the vehicle, users can also operate the trunk using their smartphones. However, to access the front trunk, the My Porsche app will be required. Impressively, the digital key system remains operational even when the phone's battery is low. For those Macan models equipped with 360-degree parking cameras, new features are designed to enhance the driving experience. A notable innovation is the transparent hood function, which displays on the infotainment screen what is obscured by the front of the vehicle.
