The decision stems from the administration's enforcement of the 'Connected Vehicle Rule,' which prohibits the sale of vehicles equipped with Chinese software or hardware in the United States. Despite this setback, Polestar has indicated that it will continue to sell existing models, including the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, in the U.S. The company reassured customers that it remains committed to providing service and support through its network. In a notable statistic, Polestar highlighted that a staggering 94% of its retail sales volume in the first quarter of 2026 originated from international markets rather than the U.S. In light of the recent developments, Polestar has shifted its strategic priorities, placing greater emphasis on the European market.
