Poco is gearing up to expand its budget-friendly M-series with the upcoming launch of the Poco M8 5G in India. The Xiaomi sub-brand has initiated a promotional campaign dubbed 'Designed to Slay,' hinting at the device's imminent arrival. A dedicated microsite on Flipkart has already gone live, indicating that the phone will be available for purchase on the popular e-commerce platform. While Poco has released a teaser video showcasing the M8 5G, it stops short of providing a specific launch date, concluding with the phrase 'coming soon.' In the video, viewers can glimpse the phone's dual-tone finish, a characteristic seen in various previous Poco models, including the Poco X7 series. The device features a squarish camera module and rounded edges, reminiscent of the design seen in the upcoming Redmi Note 15, also set to launch in India next month. Although official specifications remain scarce, leaks suggest that the Poco M8 5G will be available in three color options and will include a dual-camera setup. The phone is expected to sport a 6.77-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Battery life is anticipated to be robust, with a 5,520mAh capacity supporting 45W wired fast charging. Additionally, the Poco M8 5G may feature an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance, offering protection against splashes and light rain, though it should not be submerged. While a specific launch date is yet to be announced, the ongoing teasers suggest a mid-January or early February debut. In parallel, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has revealed potential specifications for the Poco M8 Pro 5G, claiming it will feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. This model is rumored to include a 6.83-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. On the camera front, it might boast a 50MP primary lens, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 32MP front-facing camera. Additionally, the M8 Pro could operate on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, an optical fingerprint scanner, an IR blaster, and Bluetooth 5.4 support.
