AI design platform Picsart launches a creator monetization program

Picsart, an AI-driven design platform, has announced an innovative creator monetization initiative aimed at empowering content creators. This program is accessible to all creators, eliminating any invite requirements or minimum audience thresholds. Participants in the program are encouraged to produce original content using Picsart's tools for designated campaigns. They can then share this content across their social media channels and earn revenue based on audience engagement metrics. This approach emphasizes rewarding creativity and performance over sheer follower counts. With the introduction of this monetization program, Picsart is transitioning from a mere creative tool to a comprehensive platform that enables creators to monetize their work. The initiative is likely a strategic move to attract and retain a diverse range of creators. Upon signing up, creators gain access to a dashboard that showcases current prompts and creative challenges. For instance, one campaign may invite creators to use Picsart Aura, the platform's AI assistant, to generate and animate images of adorable creatures through text or voice commands. Picsart stresses that simply generating and sharing AI images without genuine creative input is unlikely to result in substantial engagement or earnings. Once content is crafted, creators must complete a brief form with the URL of their social media post, tag it according to campaign specifications, and provide a description of their creative process. The earnings are determined by various engagement factors, including views, comments, shares, and overall reach. Creators can monitor their earnings on their dashboard and withdraw funds via Stripe. Hovhannes Avoyan, Picsart’s founder and CEO, remarked, "We believe creativity should be accessible to everyone, and so should the rewards that come with it. The creator economy has faced challenges, particularly regarding compensation for everyday creators. With Earn with Picsart, we aim to address this issue and support the community that has contributed to our growth." The program is designed to cater to a wide array of creators, whether they specialize in tutorials, aesthetic edits, or short-form videos. Established in 2011, Picsart boasts over 130 million users globally and achieved unicorn status during the creator economy surge in 2021. This monetization initiative follows the recent announcement of Picsart's AI agent marketplace, which allows creators to 'hire' AI assistants for various tasks, enhancing their content creation process.
