Perplexity has officially rolled out its innovative Comet browser to all Pro subscribers in India. Initially launched in July, the browser was first exclusive to Max subscribers, but has gradually become accessible to a wider audience in recent months. Comet is not just any web browser; it leverages AI technology to act as a personal assistant and a cognitive companion. Users can engage with the browser through text or voice commands to execute a variety of tasks. These include making online purchases, scheduling meetings, summarizing content, and analyzing PDF documents, among others. Currently, Comet is available for users operating on macOS and Windows platforms in India. However, the mobile app is still in a pre-registration phase on the Play Store, indicating that it has yet to be fully launched for mobile users. The annual subscription for Perplexity Pro is priced at ₹17,000, but there's good news for Airtel customers—both prepaid and postpaid, as well as Wi-Fi and DTH users, can access the subscription for free. Additionally, Perplexity has teamed up with PayPal to offer eligible users a complimentary 12-month subscription to the Pro service, enhancing accessibility for even more individuals seeking advanced web browsing capabilities.
