Perplexity, an AI-driven knowledge platform, has launched an exciting new feature designed to revolutionize language learning. This interactive tool aims to make the process of mastering foreign languages not only more effective but also more engaging for users. The announcement was made on October 16 by CEO Aravind Srinivas, who emphasized a shift away from traditional text-based interactions. Srinivas explained that the updated system incorporates interactive experiences, allowing users to engage with the language more deeply. He showcased the functionality through a video, illustrating how the tool can assist travelers preparing for a trip to Korea. By generating useful phrases, greetings, and essential expressions, the AI supports effective communication in real-life scenarios, making it a valuable companion for both travelers and language aficionados. Currently, this new feature is accessible on iOS and web platforms, with an Android version anticipated to follow shortly. In addition to this innovative launch, Srinivas recently shared insights into how he utilizes AI technology to engage with investors during fundraising. Notably, he revealed that he has not relied on a traditional pitch deck since the company's Series A round in March 2023, during which it raised $25.6 million. Instead, he employs written memos and live Q&A sessions, with AI-generated responses to address investor inquiries. "The Series A round was the only instance I prepared a pitch deck. For all subsequent funding rounds, I simply provide a memo and invite questions from investors," Srinivas stated, highlighting a modern approach to fundraising within the startup ecosystem.
