Peloton's CEO, Peter Stern, has announced an ambitious plan to broaden the company's reach by making its fitness equipment available in gyms. This initiative will involve distributing machines through its subsidiary, Precor, which supplies gym equipment, and integrating Peloton workouts into Precor-compatible devices. In a recent address at the Bloomberg Tech Summit, Stern also unveiled a new peer-to-peer marketplace named Repowered, aimed at the growing market for used Peloton gear. He noted that while second-hand sales often occur on platforms like Facebook Marketplace, this can lead to complications, including transactions with strangers and potential safety concerns. Repowered seeks to simplify this process, offering a more premium experience for those looking to purchase second-hand equipment. Additionally, Stern highlighted the company's commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance member personalization. He expressed a desire to develop tailored coaching solutions, ensuring that each member receives recommendations for classes and instructors that best fit their individual preferences. This approach aims to elevate the overall member experience and foster a more engaging fitness journey.
