Peacock expands into AI-driven video, mobile-first live sports, and gaming

Peacock is positioning itself at the forefront of entertainment by integrating artificial intelligence and mobile-centric experiences. During a recent press event, the streaming service showcased an upcoming mobile app redesign that blends elements from TikTok, gaming, and traditional streaming. One of the standout features, dubbed "Your Bravoverse," is tailored for fans of Bravo's reality shows. This function offers personalized playlists created from over 5,000 hours of Bravo content, narrated by a digital avatar of Andy Cohen, the renowned host of "The Real Housewives" reunions. Users initiate the experience by selecting their favorite shows and moments, after which the AI curates a stream of clips, with Cohen’s avatar guiding them through the narratives and introducing new content. Peacock’s technology utilizes computer vision to identify key moments and storylines, while AI agents analyze viewer preferences to optimize the experience. The platform claims to generate over 600 billion possible viewing combinations, catering to the passionate Bravo fanbase, who typically consume about 24 hours of content each month. In addition to the Bravoverse feature, Peacock is also innovating in live sports viewing. The platform will soon allow fans to stream live games in a vertical format, leveraging AI for real-time cropping tailored for mobile screens. This feature will make its debut during NBA games in the spring, enhancing the viewing experience with multiple camera angles through the Courtside Live function, which was first introduced at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game. Peacock’s focus on short-form video is not unique; competitors like Disney+ and Netflix are also expanding their offerings in this area. The streaming platform aims to establish a dedicated section for vertical video, reflecting trends seen on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. This is not Peacock's first venture into AI. During the 2024 Summer Olympics, it launched generative AI recaps, providing personalized summaries of events. Furthermore, the platform is broadening its mobile gaming portfolio, including new mystery games developed in collaboration with AI gaming startup Wolf Games, which specializes in interactive gaming experiences. As Peacock evolves from a traditional streaming service to a more interactive platform, it seeks to enhance user engagement amid a competitive landscape. Despite recent subscriber growth, the company reported a significant loss in its latest quarterly earnings, highlighting the challenges ahead as it adapts to the changing demands of viewers.
