Paytm app gets big makeover with AI tools and new payment features

Paytm has launched a significant update to its app, introducing a sleeker and more user-friendly interface along with advanced payment functionalities powered by artificial intelligence. According to the company, the redesigned app aims to simplify the payment experience, making it more intuitive for users. Vijay Shekhar Sharma, CEO of Paytm, highlighted the integration of intelligence within the app, stating, "We are bringing intelligence to payments, where the app understands your spending habits, organizes it automatically, and assists you in managing your finances more effectively. Additionally, users will earn Gold Coins with each transaction, which can be converted into real digital gold, making every Paytm payment a valuable one." One of the standout features is Total Balance, which enables users to view their overall funds across linked UPI bank accounts without the hassle of calculating balances individually. Furthermore, the app now provides a monthly spending summary that categorizes expenses into shopping, bills, travel, and utilities. Another notable enhancement is the Hide Payments feature, allowing users to conceal specific transactions from their payment history. Users can also download detailed UPI statements in either Excel or PDF formats, complete with narratives for each transaction. The app now includes a payment location feature that shows where each transaction occurred, helping users recall the purpose behind their past payments. Additionally, users can search their transaction history by various criteria, including name, amount, note, or payment type such as 'grocery' or 'entertainment'. The updated app introduces Magic Paste, which streamlines the process of entering payment details by allowing users to paste messages containing bank account and IFSC codes, which the app will then automatically recognize and fill in. A built-in calculator has also been added to facilitate quick calculations while making payments. Moreover, users can now personalize their UPI IDs, choosing from options like name@ptyes or name@ptaxis. This feature aims to protect the user's mobile number during transactions while making the UPI ID easier to remember. As an added incentive, Paytm will reward users with Gold Coins for every payment made, further enhancing the value of using the app. With these enhancements, Paytm continues its commitment to providing innovative financial solutions tailored for its users in India.
