Parallel Web Systems, an innovative startup in the AI agent-tool space founded by former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, has successfully secured $100 million in a Series B funding round. This new investment values the company at an impressive $2 billion and was spearheaded by Sequoia Capital. Notable existing investors, including Kleiner Perkins, Index Ventures, Khosla Ventures, First Round Capital, Spark Capital, and Terrain Capital, also contributed to this significant raise. This latest funding milestone comes just five months after the company completed its Series A round, which raised $100 million at a valuation of $740 million, led by Kleiner Perkins and Index Ventures. With this new capital injection, Parallel Web Systems has raised a total of $230 million thus far. The company's offerings include a comprehensive suite of web search and research APIs tailored specifically for AI agents. Parallel's customer base features prominent names such as Clay, Harvey, Notion, and OpenDoor, and it also claims to serve various banks and hedge funds, although specific names have yet to be disclosed. Agrawal's journey with Parallel has been particularly noteworthy, especially following his departure from Twitter, which included a lawsuit against Elon Musk after being dismissed alongside other top executives. The lawsuit alleged that Musk had not fulfilled his obligation to pay $128 million in severance. However, the case was settled in October on undisclosed terms. Today, Agrawal can take pride in the strong support from investors, especially as Parallel claims to have over 100,000 developers utilizing its products.
