In a significant turn of events, Oracle has reportedly rescinded job offers extended to students from IITs and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) following a staggering layoff of over 30,000 employees globally. One NIT student, Aditya Kumar Barawal, took to LinkedIn to express the personal impact of this decision. He revealed that his pre-placement offer was retracted due to internal restructuring and a shift in the company's hiring strategy. In his post, he conveyed, "While this setback has been difficult, I’m staying optimistic and focused on learning, building, and moving forward." Barawal also shared a screenshot of the official communication from his institute, which underscored the challenging nature of the situation. The letter stated, "The recruiting organization (Oracle) has recently withdrawn the offers extended to these candidates at no fault of their part." It further noted the timing of this decision, highlighting that it has come at a critical juncture when the placement cycle is nearing its end. As the campus placement drive is already underway, many affected candidates now face the daunting task of navigating a tough job market, intensifying their pressure and uncertainty about securing new employment.
