OpenAI has made efforts to mitigate safety concerns associated with Sora by allowing users to manage how their likeness is represented on the platform. However, some initial content, including a controversial video featuring CEO Sam Altman in a fictional shoplifting scenario, has raised questions about the app's implications for legality and ethics. In a post on X, Altman acknowledged the potential downsides of AI video generation, stating, "It is easy to imagine the degenerate case of AI video generation that ends up with us all being sucked into an RL-optimized slop feed. The team has put great care and thought into trying to make a delightful product that doesn't fall into that trap, and has come up with a number of promising ideas."
