OpenAI revenue chief Dresser says enterprise AI adoption is 'at a tipping point'

Denise Dresser, Chief Revenue Officer at OpenAI, declared on Monday that enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence has reached a critical juncture. To facilitate this transition, OpenAI has unveiled its new Deployment Company, aimed at accelerating the integration of AI into various businesses. Dresser elaborated on the initiative during an appearance on CNBC's "Squawk on the Street," emphasizing the importance of streamlining complex workflows integral to product development. She noted that the structure of this new business unit is designed to enhance speed and scalability in AI implementation. The launch of the Deployment Company coincides with OpenAI's acquisition of Tomoro, a consulting firm specializing in applied AI. This strategic move brings approximately 150 engineers with expertise in deploying advanced AI models into OpenAI’s framework to assist clients directly. These engineers will work closely with organizations to understand their unique workflows, enabling them to integrate AI capabilities from back-office applications seamlessly. Dresser explained that this hands-on approach aims to build intelligence into every aspect of a client's operations. Her remarks come at a time when competition for enterprise clientele is intensifying, particularly with rivals like Anthropic leading the charge and Google entering the fray with its Gemini platform. Recently, Anthropic announced a partnership with Goldman Sachs and Blackstone to establish a $1.5 billion venture focused on accelerating AI adoption across numerous companies. Dresser, who previously served as CEO at Slack, joined OpenAI as Chief Revenue Officer in December, bringing her extensive experience to this transformative effort.
