OpenAI launches a way for enterprises to build and manage AI agents

As AI agents gained traction in 2024, the demand for agent management solutions has surged, with Salesforce's Agentforce emerging as a leading competitor after its launch in the fall of that year. Other players like LangChain, founded in 2022 with over $150 million in funding, and the smaller CrewAI, which has secured more than $20 million, are also making waves in this space. In a report released in December, Gartner labeled agent management platforms as the "most valuable real estate in AI" and emphasized their necessity for organizations aiming to adopt AI technologies. Given OpenAI's commitment to enhancing enterprise adoption, the introduction of Frontier in early 2026 aligns perfectly with its strategic objectives.
