OpenAI is broadening its affordable ChatGPT offerings, recently introducing the ChatGPT Go subscription plan in Indonesia. Following the successful launch in India last month, this new subscription is priced at Rp75,000, which is approximately $4.50 per month. The ChatGPT Go plan serves as a cost-effective option that bridges the gap between the complimentary version and the premium ChatGPT Plus plan, which is available for $20 each month. Subscribers to the Go plan enjoy significantly enhanced usage limits—ten times those of the free version—allowing for more questions, prompt submissions, image generation, and file uploads. Additionally, this plan improves the model's ability to recall previous conversations, offering users a more personalized interaction experience over time, according to ChatGPT head Nick Turley. Since its debut in India, the uptake of the ChatGPT Go plan has been remarkable, with a twofold increase in paid subscribers. This expansion positions OpenAI in direct rivalry with Google, which launched its own competitively priced AI Plus subscription in Indonesia earlier this month. Google's AI Plus plan provides access to its advanced Gemini 2.5 Pro chatbot and includes an array of creative tools for image and video production, such as Flow, Whisk, and Veo 3 Fast. Additionally, subscribers benefit from improved features in Google's AI research assistant NotebookLM, along with enhanced integrations of AI in services like Gmail, Docs, and Sheets, topped off with 200GB of cloud storage.
