In the interim, Denise Dresser, the former CEO of Slack who recently joined OpenAI as Chief Revenue Officer, will assume some of Lightcap's responsibilities. These transitions come at a time when Fidji Simo, the CEO of AGI development, announced she will be taking medical leave for several weeks due to a neuroimmune condition. In a memo, Simo expressed her frustration with the timing, as she is eager to contribute to the exciting roadmap ahead for the company. During Simo's absence, OpenAI co-founder and president Greg Brockman will oversee product management. Additionally, Kate Rouch, the Chief Marketing Officer, is stepping down to focus on her recovery from cancer. However, she plans to return to a more focused role once her health improves. OpenAI is actively looking for a new CMO to fill this crucial position.
