OpenAI has made a significant move by offering its ChatGPT Enterprise product to federal agencies in the United States for the nominal fee of just $1 over the next year. This initiative aims to make the advanced capabilities of its technology accessible to the federal government's workforce at virtually no expense. The tech company has been actively building relationships with lawmakers and regulatory bodies, and plans to establish its first office in Washington, D.C., early next year. Through this partnership, participating agencies will benefit from OpenAI’s cutting-edge models via ChatGPT Enterprise, along with an additional 60-day access to features like Advanced Voice Mode. This initiative is in collaboration with the U.S. General Services Administration, reflecting OpenAI's commitment to enhancing governmental efficiency. "Our goal is to improve the way government operates—making services faster, easier, and more dependable—is crucial for extending the benefits of AI to all citizens," OpenAI stated in a recent blog post. Earlier this year, OpenAI introduced a program named OpenAI for Government and secured a contract valued at up to $200 million from the U.S. Department of Defense. The company is also reportedly in discussions with investors regarding a potential stock sale that could reach a valuation of approximately $500 billion. Notably, OpenAI raised a staggering $40 billion in funding in March, marking the highest amount ever secured by a private tech entity.
