In a thoughtful initiative aimed at supporting veterans, employees at OpenAI have developed a comprehensive list of 100 ChatGPT prompts designed specifically for those transitioning out of military service. Vikki Lampton, a veteran and OpenAI staff member, shared her inspiration: "I rely on ChatGPT daily for learning, organizing my tasks, and making decisions. Reflecting on my own transition from the Army in 2013, I realize how beneficial a tool like ChatGPT would have been during that time." To further assist veterans, OpenAI is offering free access to ChatGPT Plus for one year to U.S. service members who are within 12 months of retirement or separation. This initiative also includes a specially created introductory video available on OpenAI Academy, helping veterans familiarize themselves with the tool. Each year, around 200,000 service members make the shift to civilian life, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs. The prompts are categorized into three sections: pre-transition, transition, and post-transition, addressing crucial topics such as résumé writing and navigating workplace dynamics. The entire list is available online, and users can easily interact with the prompts using ChatGPT to explore these essential resources.
