OnePlus is gearing up for the global release of its OxygenOS 16 user interface, set to launch on October 16. This new UI will be the successor to OxygenOS 15, which garnered significant acclaim for its fluid performance as one of the top Android skins available. To build anticipation, OnePlus has launched a dedicated microsite that highlights some of the standout features of OxygenOS 16. Among these is the introduction of ‘Flow Motion’ animations, designed to enhance the smoothness of app transitions. Additionally, the brand is expanding its ‘Parallel Processing’ feature beyond the home screen, which was first introduced in OxygenOS 15. This technology allows multiple animation elements to execute simultaneously, resulting in faster app transitions and an improved multitasking experience. Continuing its commitment to connectivity, OnePlus has announced that OxygenOS 16 will offer enhanced integration with MacBooks and Windows PCs, building on the connectivity improvements made in the previous version with iPhones. The settings interface showcased in the teasers resembles that of OnePlus tablets, enabling cross-device functionalities such as data sharing and clipboard synchronization. OxygenOS 16 is anticipated to closely mirror the upcoming ColorOS 16, which launches a day earlier on October 15. Nonetheless, OnePlus assures that its OS will remain devoid of bloatware and advertisements, distinguishing it from its ColorOS counterpart. In related news, OnePlus has initiated a beta program for OxygenOS 16, currently available to a select group of flagship devices, including the OnePlus 13 series and the OnePlus 12 series. However, this beta is exclusive to Indian users and will be operational from October 9 to October 13. Interested users must complete a questionnaire and await approval from OnePlus to gain access to the beta version of the new operating system.
