OnePlus Nord 5 and Buds 4 set to debut in India on July 8: All we know so far

OnePlus is preparing for an exciting launch event in India on July 8, where it will showcase the eagerly awaited OnePlus Nord 5, Nord CE 5 smartphones, and the new OnePlus Buds 4 true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones. As the launch date approaches, the company has unveiled several key specifications for both the Nord 5 and Buds 4, raising expectations for their performance and design. The OnePlus Nord 5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, positioning it as one of the most powerful devices within the Nord lineup. The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,272 x 2,800 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, promising users a smooth and immersive viewing experience. In terms of photography, the Nord 5 boasts an impressive dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP Sony LYT-700 primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 116-degree field of view. For selfies and video calls, the front-facing camera will also be a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor, capable of capturing high-resolution images. Remarkably, both the front and rear cameras will support 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, along with a LivePhoto feature. Performance-wise, the device will offer LPDDR5X RAM and a 7,300 sq mm vapor cooling chamber, which OnePlus claims will allow for gaming experiences at up to 144fps. The Nord 5 is anticipated to be available in 8GB and 12GB RAM configurations, with storage options of 256GB and 512GB. Additionally, it may feature an IP65-rated design for dust and water resistance, complemented by a robust 5,200mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. Expected color variants include Dry Ice, Marble Sands, and Phantom Grey. Alongside the smartphones, OnePlus is also set to launch the Buds 4 TWS earphones. These earphones will feature adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC) up to 55dB, aimed at improving audio clarity by minimizing external sounds. They will also support the LHDC 5.0 codec and deliver a spatial 3D audio experience, driven by dual DAC drivers. Stay tuned for more technology updates as the launch date approaches.
