OnePlus is gearing up for a potential global launch of its upcoming Nord smartphones, following the recent introduction of the Turbo 6 series in China. The company has made waves with the release of the OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V in the mid-range market, and interest is rapidly growing outside of China. Speculation is rife that OnePlus may rebrand the Turbo 6 series for international markets, including India, under its popular Nord lineup. If this strategy holds, the OnePlus Turbo 6 could be released as the OnePlus Nord 6, while the Turbo 6V might be rebranded as the Nord CE 6. Historically, OnePlus has adopted a similar approach, introducing China-exclusive models to global consumers with minor adjustments in specifications and software, enabling them to deliver cutting-edge hardware at competitive price points. Recent reports from GSMArena indicate that the OnePlus Nord 6 has successfully navigated several regulatory certifications, suggesting that a broader launch may be on the horizon. The device has reportedly appeared on various certification databases, including SIRIM in Malaysia and has received approvals from GCF and TDRA. These certifications typically precede an official announcement, hinting that OnePlus is nearing the unveiling of the Nord 6. While there has been no formal announcement from OnePlus regarding the device, past release cycles suggest that the Nord 6 could make its debut in India in the first half of 2026. The OnePlus Nord 5 was released in July of the previous year, and the early certification sightings indicate that the successor may arrive sooner than anticipated. That said, the company has yet to confirm any specific launch dates, leaving room for potential changes in the timeline. As for pricing, while details remain under wraps, the Chinese pricing for the Turbo 6 series provides a useful reference. The OnePlus Turbo 6 starts at CNY 2,099 (approximately Rs. 27,000), while the Turbo 6V is priced from CNY 1,699 (around Rs. 21,000). If the Nord 6 series is indeed launched in India, it is expected to be priced between Rs. 28,000 and Rs. 32,000, with the Nord CE 6 possibly falling in the Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 25,000 range. If the Nord 6 is based on the Turbo 6, it is anticipated to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, positioning it as one of the most powerful Nord smartphones to date. The device is expected to support up to 16GB of RAM and offer up to 512GB of internal storage. Battery performance is likely to be a standout feature, with the Turbo 6 boasting a massive 9,000mAh battery alongside 80W fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging support, giving the Nord 6 a significant advantage in longevity. Durability is another critical aspect, as the Turbo 6 is equipped with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, providing robust protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets, a rarity in the mid-range category. Camera capabilities are expected to include a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a secondary 2-megapixel camera, and a 16-megapixel front camera. Additional features likely to be included are NFC, multi-band GPS, and long-term software updates. While the Turbo 6 runs on ColorOS in China, the Indian and global variants of the Nord 6 are expected to be shipped with OxygenOS. Despite the flurry of reports and regulatory certifications highlighted by GSMArena, OnePlus has yet to officially confirm details about the Nord 6 series. Specifications, pricing, and launch timelines may still evolve ahead of any official announcements.
