OnePlus likely to exit India by 2027 amid Oppo’s restructuring plans

The future of OnePlus in India hangs in the balance as the brand continues to scale back its operations. Recent reports indicate that OnePlus might not only withdraw from the US and European markets soon but may also cease its operations in India and other regions by 2027. This potential move aligns with restructuring plans by its parent company, Oppo, which is evaluating the viability of the OnePlus brand in various markets. A Bloomberg report highlights that while OnePlus is expected to maintain its presence in China, it may pull out from all overseas markets, including India, within the next few years. Concurrently, Realme is anticipated to exit the Chinese market entirely. The restructuring efforts appear to stem from financial difficulties faced by Oppo's smartphone segment, particularly due to diminishing sales in key regions such as the US, Europe, and India. Geopolitical tensions surrounding the sale of Chinese smartphones in the US have also posed significant challenges for OnePlus. Adding to the brand's struggles is an ongoing legal battle with Apple, complicating its international business landscape. Oppo aims to redirect its focus towards Central Europe, while Realme plans to concentrate on Nordic markets, including Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and Iceland.
