Following the recent launch of the OnePlus 15, the tech giant has announced the arrival of the OnePlus 15R in India. This new smartphone is expected to debut with the latest Android 16-based OxygenOS 16, promising users an upgraded software experience. The OnePlus 15R will see the removal of the alert slider, a staple in previous models, introducing instead a multifunctional Plus Key. This new feature allows users to quickly adjust volume profiles, capture photos, start recordings, and utilize the Plus Mind for memory capture. While official specifications for the OnePlus 15R have not yet been disclosed, it is anticipated that the device will be a rebranded version of the recently launched OnePlus Ace 6 in China. The Ace 6 sports a 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS AMOLED display with a remarkable 165Hz refresh rate, along with robust IP66, IP68, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance, similar to its predecessor. In terms of photography, the Ace 6 is equipped with a 50MP main camera featuring optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultra-wide lens, complemented by a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls. However, it’s speculated that the OnePlus 15R may have a less advanced camera system than the OnePlus 15, which included a telephoto lens. The device is expected to come with a substantial 7,800mAh battery and support for 120W wired fast charging, though it is unlikely to feature wireless charging, consistent with previous R series models. The Ace 6 is available in various colors, including Competitive Black, Flash White, and Quicksilver, but it remains to be seen if these options will carry over to the 15R. Pricing for the OnePlus Ace 6 starts at around 2,599 yuan (approximately ₹32,000) in China, marking an increase of 300 yuan compared to its predecessor. Given the recent price hikes for OnePlus's flagship models, the 15R may also see a price increase, potentially starting around ₹45,000, up from the previous model's ₹42,999. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting new release.
