OnePlus 15 battery capacity, charging speed and new cooling system revealed

The highly anticipated OnePlus 15 is set to launch in China on October 27, with speculation suggesting an earlier release in India around November 14. This new flagship model promises to pack a punch with its impressive 7,300mAh battery, marking the highest capacity ever for a OnePlus device. In addition to robust battery life, the OnePlus 15 will support rapid charging capabilities, featuring a remarkable 120W wired SuperVOOC fast charging and 50W wireless charging options. OnePlus has also introduced a groundbreaking "Glacier Cooling System," which is touted to provide the best thermal insulation performance in mobile history. This system utilizes cutting-edge materials and a large 5778mm² flat glacier vapor cooling component, reportedly doubling the heat dissipation rate compared to previous models. The OnePlus 15 will be available in three striking colors: Sand Dunes, Absolute Black, and Fog Purple. Under the hood, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor paired with the Adreno 840 GPU. Notably, the camera setup has undergone a significant redesign, moving away from the Hasselblad branding to utilize an in-house DetailMax engine, and features a new squiricle camera module with a triple camera arrangement. Another exciting aspect of the OnePlus 15 is its ultra-thin bezels, measuring just 1.15mm on all sides, which enhances the screen-to-body ratio compared to its predecessor. The device will boast a 165Hz refresh rate display, although practical use will depend on support from game developers. OnePlus has highlighted compatibility with popular titles like League of Legends and Clash of Clans. Expectations are high for the OnePlus 15’s display, rumored to be a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED screen, which may be a downgrade from the previous generation's 2K panel. The phone is also anticipated to feature a triple 50MP camera setup, including a primary lens, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a periscope telephoto lens, alongside a 32MP front-facing camera with autofocus. With its launch approaching, OnePlus is poised to make a significant impact in the smartphone market, particularly as the OnePlus 15 will be the first device in India to showcase the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new release.
