OnePlus 15 battery, fast charging and other key details revealed ahead of launch

As the OnePlus 15 gears up for its launch on November 13 in India and various international markets, the company has unveiled a host of exciting features that promise to elevate the smartphone experience. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and will run on the latest Android 16 with the OxygenOS 16 interface. The OnePlus 15 boasts a stunning 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display, featuring a rapid 165Hz refresh rate. This partnership with popular games like Call of Duty: Mobile, Brawl Stars, and Clash of Clans ensures players can enjoy native 165fps gaming support. The higher refresh rate contributes to smoother visuals, minimizes motion blur, and enhances response times in fast-paced gaming scenarios. In terms of brightness, the OnePlus 15 shines with a High Brightness Mode (HBM) that reaches an impressive 1,800 nits. Furthermore, it can dip down to a minimum brightness of 1 nit, offering a comfortable viewing experience during the night. The smartphone's battery life sees a significant upgrade, moving from the 6,000mAh battery of its predecessor, the OnePlus 13, to a robust 7,300mAh capacity. This new battery supports 120W SUPERVOOC wired fast charging and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. Notably, it also features bypass charging, allowing the device to draw power directly from the charger to minimize heat during gaming sessions. OnePlus claims that the battery is engineered to maintain over 80% of its health after four years of use and can function efficiently in temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the OnePlus 15 is built to withstand tough conditions, boasting IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance, capable of enduring submersion in 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. The device will also include a 3200Hz touch sampling rate and a dedicated Wi-Fi chip to ensure strong and stable connectivity, even in crowded environments. To enhance the gaming experience, the OnePlus 15 is equipped with a 360-degree Cryo-Velocity Cooling System featuring a 5,731 mm² 3D vapor chamber, designed to effectively dissipate heat and minimize throttling. Available in India in three stylish color options—Sand Storm, Infinite Black, and Ultra Violet—the OnePlus 15 is set to make a significant impact upon its release.
