OnePlus 15 live image leak shows bold new design: What to expect

The anticipation builds for the upcoming OnePlus 15, set to debut later this year. Recent leaks have provided an intriguing glimpse into the phone's design, with a purported image making waves on social media. According to the well-known tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, this image originates from the Elite Gaming League Finals in China and showcases a fresh design aesthetic along with a vibrant new color option. The leaked photo reveals a design that bears a resemblance to the OnePlus 13s, featuring a distinctive square camera module. This setup includes two primary sensors arranged in a pill-shaped configuration, with an additional sensor positioned above the LED flash. While earlier rumors suggested color options of purple, titanium, and black, this latest image highlights a striking white variant of the OnePlus 15. Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 is expected to be among the first Android flagships to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, set to be unveiled soon. The device may feature a 6.78-inch LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution, which is slightly lower than the QHD+ resolution found in its predecessor, the OnePlus 13. Additionally, it is rumored to support an impressive 165Hz refresh rate. Battery life may see a significant upgrade, with expectations of a 7,000mAh capacity, an increase from the 6,000mAh battery in the OnePlus 13. Fast charging capabilities are also anticipated, with support for 120W wired and 50W wireless charging options. On the photography front, the OnePlus 15 is likely to retain the 50MP triple-camera setup seen in last year's model, complete with a telephoto lens that offers 3x optical zoom. However, this new flagship will forgo the Hasselblad branding, opting instead for an in-house solution known as the DetailMax Engine. The effectiveness of this change will only be determined upon the phone's official release in the coming months. Adding to the excitement, the OnePlus 15 may be the first model to feature the new OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16, although the Chinese version might still run on the latest iteration of ColorOS. Stay tuned for more updates as the launch date approaches.
