OnePlus 15 leaks: 7,300mAh battery, 165Hz display, and what all to expect

OnePlus is poised to unveil its newest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, with an anticipated launch event in China this October. While the exact global release date remains unconfirmed, reports indicate that it could hit international markets on November 13. According to insights from tipster Bald Panda, shared via Gizmochina, the OnePlus 15 is set to feature an extraordinary 7,300mAh battery, marking a new record for the brand. This powerhouse will support blazing-fast 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities, although specifics regarding reverse charging are still under wraps. The upcoming model is expected to sport a slightly smaller 6.78-inch display, a step down from the 6.82-inch screen of its predecessor. In terms of dimensions, the OnePlus 15 is predicted to be 8.1mm thick and weigh between 211 and 215 grams. Potential color choices include Sand Dune, Black, and Purple, appealing to a range of aesthetic preferences. Under the hood, the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which utilizes TSMC’s advanced 3nm (N3P) fabrication technology. This new chipset is reported to deliver a performance increase of up to 23% and enhance battery efficiency by as much as 20% compared to the OnePlus 13. Perhaps one of the most exciting features is the inclusion of a 165Hz refresh rate display, a notable upgrade from the 120Hz screens in earlier models. This enhanced display is expected to provide smoother visuals, especially for gaming enthusiasts, with some games potentially reaching frame rates of 165fps. Out of the box, the OnePlus 15 will likely run ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 for the Chinese market, while international versions will feature OxygenOS 16. Notably, OnePlus India has announced that OxygenOS 16 will integrate Google's Gemini AI models, promising significant advancements in on-device AI functionality.
