In a dynamic move within the cybersecurity landscape, Oneleet, co-founded by Bryan Onel, has successfully raised $33 million in a Series A funding round led by Dawn Capital. Onel, whose roots in security began with his father's locksmith profession, transformed his passion for ethical hacking into a thriving business after a decade of conducting penetration tests for over 150 companies across various industries. Onel recognized a significant gap in the cybersecurity compliance sector, where existing solutions often fell short. He observed that many businesses were either adhering to laborious yet effective security measures or opting for simpler, less effective ones. This realization spurred Onel to create Oneleet alongside his wife, Ora, and friend Erik Vogelzang, aiming to provide a comprehensive security compliance platform. Unlike traditional compliance tools that merely generate certificates based on superficial evidence collection, Oneleet integrates a suite of security functionalities, including penetration testing, code scanning, and attack surface management. This comprehensive approach allows businesses to gain a clearer understanding of their security posture, eliminating the inefficiencies of managing multiple tools. The funding will be instrumental in expanding Oneleet’s engineering team and enhancing its AI capabilities as it seeks to reach a broader customer base. Onel emphasized the urgency of addressing compliance issues, especially as cyberattacks become increasingly sophisticated, noting that AI is being utilized by attackers to automate malicious activities. With an impressive $3 million in annual recurring revenue and a total of $34 million raised to date, Oneleet aims to redefine security compliance, moving away from what Onel calls 'compliance theatre'—a scenario where businesses appear secure on paper but remain vulnerable. Acknowledging the potential dangers of AI misuse in compliance documentation, Onel assured that Oneleet employs AI responsibly, with human oversight to ensure accuracy and reliability in their security assessments. As the digital landscape evolves, Oneleet positions itself as a key player in helping organizations fortify their defenses, allowing them to focus on innovation rather than security concerns.
