Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, has boldly predicted a transformative era for robotics and autonomous vehicles (AVs) in the coming years. Speaking with CNBC's Arjun Kharpal at the Viva Tech conference in Paris, Huang emphasized that we are on the brink of a significant leap forward, declaring, "This is going to be the decade of AVs, robotics, and autonomous machines." Nvidia is at the forefront of this technological revolution, providing both hardware and software solutions essential for the development of driverless vehicles. In the United States, the presence of self-driving cars is becoming increasingly commonplace, with Waymo, a subsidiary of Google, actively operating robotaxi services in major cities such as San Francisco, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. Meanwhile, in China, companies like Baidu and Pony.ai are making strides with their own robotaxi fleets. However, Europe has yet to fully embrace this technology due to regulatory uncertainties that hinder the deployment of self-driving services. Despite these challenges, momentum is building. The United Kingdom has recently passed the Autonomous Vehicles Act, setting the stage for self-driving cars to hit the roads by 2026. Additionally, Uber has revealed a partnership with British self-driving technology firm Wayve, aiming to commence trials of fully autonomous rides in the U.K. by spring 2026.
