As workers worry about AI, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang says AI is ‘creating an enormous number of jobs’

In a recent discussion, Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, addressed the widespread worries surrounding AI's potential to displace jobs. Speaking with MSNBC's Becky Quick at the Milken Institute, an economic policy think tank, Huang asserted that AI is not a threat to American workers but rather a powerful catalyst for job creation. Furthermore, Huang expressed his concerns about the negative narratives surrounding AI, warning that fear could hinder engagement with the technology. He criticized the doomsday rhetoric, noting that much of it originates from within the AI industry itself, potentially as a marketing tactic to generate excitement about products that may not yet deliver on their promises. Looking ahead, it remains uncertain how AI will reshape the economy in the long term. However, research from credible financial and academic institutions suggests that up to 15% of jobs in the U.S. could be lost in the coming years due to AI developments.
