Nvidia, a leading player in the AI sector, is making significant strides in hiring, even as the tech industry grapples with a slowdown in foreign recruitment due to changes in immigration policies. Recent federal data reveals that the company is aggressively pursuing talent by securing certifications for approximately 1,200 H-1B positions during the first half of fiscal 2026. This marks an increase from about 1,000 certifications during the same timeframe last year. While many tech giants have reduced their H-1B sponsorships, Nvidia remains committed to expanding its workforce. For instance, Google’s approved H-1B hires plummeted from 5,100 to 2,200 year-over-year, and Amazon's numbers fell from 6,100 to 4,300. Jensen Huang, Nvidia's CEO, emphasizes the importance of immigrants to the company’s success. Nvidia’s stock performance has also contributed to its robust compensation packages. Although the company does not publicly disclose all salary information, the data available through H-1B filings provides insight into the impressive base salaries offered for key roles. Notably, software engineers can earn up to $391,000, while research scientists may see salaries as high as $356,500. In managerial roles, salaries are equally lucrative. For example, directors can earn as much as $488,750, and product managers can reach up to $379,500. High-level engineering positions, such as distinguished AI algorithm engineers, can also command salaries exceeding $400,000. The salary ranges for various roles reflect Nvidia's commitment to attracting top-tier talent in the competitive tech landscape. For instance, research scientists can expect salaries between $104,000 and $356,500, while principal research scientists can earn from $272,000 to $431,250. Overall, Nvidia's aggressive hiring strategy and substantial compensation packages highlight its determination to maintain its leadership in the rapidly evolving AI market, as well as its reliance on skilled professionals to drive innovation and growth.
