Jensen just put Nvidia’s Blackwell and Vera Rubin sales projections into the $1 trillion stratosphere

During the opening keynote of Nvidia's annual GTC Conference in San Jose, CEO Jensen Huang unveiled some striking projections that caught the attention of investors. Among the numerous technical details shared was a bold forecast: Nvidia anticipates a staggering $1 trillion in orders for its Blackwell and Vera Rubin chips, a clear indicator of the rapid growth in the AI sector. About an hour into his presentation, Huang highlighted last year's demand, which reached approximately $500 billion for these advanced chips, extending through 2026. "$500 billion is a significant revenue figure," he remarked. "But I can confidently say that as I look ahead to 2027, I foresee at least $1 trillion in demand." The Rubin chip architecture, first announced in 2024, has been touted by Huang as the pinnacle of AI hardware, significantly surpassing the capabilities of the Blackwell architecture. In January, upon commencing production of the Rubin chips, Nvidia claimed they would operate 3.5 times faster on model-training tasks and five times faster on inference tasks, achieving an impressive performance of up to 50 petaflops. The company is gearing up to increase production in the latter half of the year, positioning itself at the forefront of AI advancements.
