Nvidia CEO told employees to use AI for 'every task that is possible' and says there will still be plenty of jobs

In a recent all-hands meeting, Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, encouraged his employees to embrace artificial intelligence in every possible task, emphasizing that they need not fear job losses as a result. This statement came shortly after the company announced record earnings, with Huang responding to concerns about managerial directives to reduce AI usage. "Are you insane?" Huang passionately questioned the rationale behind limiting AI use in the workplace. He reiterated his desire for all feasible tasks to be automated using AI, promising employees that there would still be ample work for them to do. Nvidia's position aligns with broader trends among major tech firms, as companies like Microsoft and Meta are increasingly evaluating employee performance based on AI utilization. Reports indicate that Google has advised its engineers to incorporate AI into their coding processes, while Amazon is considering the AI coding assistant Cursor following employee requests. Huang mentioned that Nvidia's own software engineers are already using Cursor and encouraged employees to continuously refine AI tools, stating, "use it until it does" work effectively. Despite ongoing discussions surrounding job security in the wake of AI advancements, Huang reassured Nvidia's workforce by highlighting the company's recent hiring spree. He noted that Nvidia had onboarded several thousand new employees in the last quarter alone, a move that he jokingly admitted was causing parking challenges at their offices. Huang estimated that Nvidia may still need to hire around 10,000 more people to meet operational demands. With a workforce expansion from 29,600 employees at the end of fiscal 2024 to 36,000 by fiscal 2025, Nvidia is also expanding its physical presence. Huang revealed that the company has recently relocated to new offices in Taipei and Shanghai, in addition to constructing two new sites in the United States. Nvidia has achieved remarkable growth, becoming the world's most valuable company with a market capitalization exceeding $4 trillion. The company reported a staggering $57.01 billion in revenue for the last quarter, marking a 62% increase compared to the previous year. Amidst this success, notable investor Michael Burry has expressed skepticism about the AI market's sustainability, prompting Nvidia to address these concerns in a memo to Wall Street analysts.
