Nvidia GTC: CEO Jensen Huang sees $1 trillion in orders for Blackwell and Vera Rubin through '27

During Nvidia's annual developer conference, CEO Jensen Huang captivated an audience with his bold forecast, predicting that purchase orders for the Blackwell and Vera Rubin chip technologies could soar to a staggering $1 trillion by the year 2027. This ambitious projection marks a significant increase from the previous year's estimate, which suggested a $500 billion revenue opportunity between these two technologies. Following Nvidia's latest earnings report, Chief Financial Officer Colette Kress indicated that the company's growth trajectory this year is expected to surpass earlier estimates. Huang emphasized the surging demand from both startups and established enterprises, stating, "If they could just get more capacity, they could generate more tokens, their revenues would go up." The company's graphics processing units (GPUs) for artificial intelligence have propelled Nvidia into the spotlight, solidifying its status as the world’s most valuable public company, with a market valuation of approximately $4.5 trillion. As the landscape of AI evolves from simple chatbots to sophisticated applications that leverage multiple agents for task execution, the generation of tokens has dramatically increased, intensifying the demand for rapid inference capabilities. Additionally, Huang introduced the Nvidia Groq 3 Language Processing Unit (LPU), marking the company's first chip from a startup it acquired through a landmark $20 billion asset purchase last December. Groq, founded by the team behind Google's tensor processing unit, is gaining recognition as a formidable competitor to Nvidia's GPUs. The Groq 3 LPU is engineered to optimize performance, featuring a core specifically designed to enhance GPU speed. Following the announcements, Nvidia's stock saw a modest rise of about 2%.
