At the renowned Gamescom 2025 event, NVIDIA made headlines by announcing that its DLSS 4 technology is now compatible with over 175 games and applications. Additionally, the company unveiled new ray tracing and path tracing enhancements set to feature in several forthcoming titles. Among the major games confirmed to launch with DLSS 4 support are highly anticipated titles such as Borderlands 4, Hell is Us, and Fate Trigger. Resident Evil Requiem and Directive 8020 will also showcase the latest path tracing capabilities. Other notable games like Phantom Blade Zero, PRAGMATA, and CINDER CITY are expected to integrate ray tracing technology. In conjunction with these developments, NVIDIA updated its GeForce RTX 50 Series lineup, which includes a special Borderlands 4 bundle, alongside enhancements to the NVIDIA app designed for RTX GPU users. Matt Wuebbling, NVIDIA's vice president of global GeForce marketing, emphasized the significance of DLSS 4 and path tracing, stating that these technologies have moved beyond experimental phases to become essential elements of modern PC gaming. He noted that developers are increasingly leveraging AI-powered rendering to achieve stunning visuals and significant performance improvements, allowing gamers to enjoy cutting-edge graphics today. Initially launched earlier this year with the RTX 50 Series, DLSS 4 utilizes Multi Frame Generation to produce up to three frames for every single traditionally rendered frame. This innovation can enhance performance by as much as eight times compared to conventional rendering methods. The technology also incorporates DLSS Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, and NVIDIA Reflex, ensuring smoother and more responsive gameplay. Among the new titles announced to support DLSS 4 are Black State, Cronos: The New Dawn, Honeycomb: The World Beyond, Lost Soul Aside, and The Outer Worlds 2. Many of these games will also be available through the GeForce NOW cloud gaming platform. Furthermore, NVIDIA introduced updates to its app, which is designed for driver updates and performance optimization. New features include global DLSS overrides for simpler configuration across various games, enhancements to Project G-Assist, NVIDIA's on-device AI assistant, and the reinstatement of legacy 3D settings for older titles. The beta update rolled out on August 19, with full availability anticipated shortly thereafter. NVIDIA also highlighted advancements in its suite of generative AI tools, known as ACE, which now supports voice-driven gaming experiences, particularly in the upcoming game The Oversight Bureau by Iconic Interactive. The RTX Remix, NVIDIA's open-source modding platform for remastering classic games, is set to expand with new community-developed plugins, increased compatibility, and a particle system that enhances visual effects in over 160 classic games. To celebrate the launch of Borderlands 4, NVIDIA is offering a limited-time RTX 50 Series bundle. Customers who purchase select RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, or 5070 GPUs, including laptop versions, will receive a copy of the game along with the Gilded Glory Pack DLC. This promotion runs until September 22.
