Nvidia and Fujitsu agree to work together on AI robots and other technology

In a significant partnership, Nvidia, the American technology powerhouse, has joined forces with Fujitsu, a prominent Japanese telecommunications and computing firm, to advance artificial intelligence initiatives. Announced on Friday in Tokyo, this collaboration aims to harness Nvidia's cutting-edge computer chips to develop intelligent robots and other technological innovations. During a press event, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the urgency of building infrastructure to support the burgeoning AI industrial revolution. "This movement has already begun, and establishing a solid foundation is crucial not only in Japan but globally," Huang stated while sharing the stage with Fujitsu's CEO Takahito Tokita. He expressed confidence that Japan has the potential to spearhead advancements in AI and robotics. The partnership will focus on creating what the companies term an "AI infrastructure," serving as the backbone for various applications in sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, environmental management, and customer service. Both companies aspire to develop this AI framework tailored specifically for the Japanese market by the year 2030, with plans for potential global expansion thereafter. Utilizing Nvidia's powerful GPUs, which are crucial for AI applications, this collaboration is expected to revolutionize multiple industries. Although specific projects and financial commitments were not disclosed, the executives hinted at potential joint ventures in robotics with Yaskawa Electric Corp., a noted Japanese manufacturer.
