Nscale, an innovative startup in the AI data center sector, has successfully raised $2 billion, pushing its valuation to an impressive $14.6 billion, the company announced on Monday. This significant funding round, known as Series C, saw participation from major players including Nvidia, Aker ASA, and 8090 Industries. Other notable investors in this round included Astra Capital Management, Citadel, Dell, Jane Street, Lenovo, Linden Advisors, Nokia, and Point72. The influx of capital is set to fast-track Nscale's efforts in developing a comprehensive AI infrastructure, which encompasses GPU computing, networking, data services, and orchestration software across Europe, North America, and Asia. Josh Payne, CEO and founder of Nscale, remarked on the monumental AI boom, stating it is "leading to the largest infrastructure buildout in human history." His comments resonate with previous statements from Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, reflecting the critical role of this infrastructure in the advancement of superintelligence.
