Notion restores access to Anthropic after service disruption

This past weekend, Notion encountered a temporary disruption affecting its integration with Anthropic. On Sunday morning, the company announced that its users were experiencing higher failure rates when attempting to use Anthropic’s Opus 4.7 and 4.8 models within Notion AI. Consequently, Notion decided to suspend access to all Anthropic models in its productivity tool. Approximately twelve hours later, Max Schoening, the head of product at Notion, expressed his surprise at the public reaction, noting that many users seemed eager for a narrative surrounding the quality of the models. He stated, "The degraded performance was a temporary service disruption. Such occurrences are not uncommon across various platforms, including Notion, GitHub, and AWS." Schoening confirmed that access to Anthropic's models has been fully restored. Meanwhile, an Anthropic representative clarified that a brief infrastructure issue led to elevated error rates across several Claude models, but assured users that the problem had been resolved. They expressed gratitude for the patience shown by users during the restoration process.
