The London-based tech firm Nothing has unveiled plans for its upcoming Phone (3), marking its debut as a true flagship smartphone, to be manufactured entirely in India. This strategic move not only underscores the company's dedication to the Indian market but also aligns seamlessly with the government's 'Make in India' initiative. Production of the Phone (3) will take place at Nothing's facility in Chennai, which currently employs over 500 staff members, with an impressive 95 percent being women. By localizing manufacturing, the company aims to enhance supply chain efficiency, shorten lead times, and adapt more swiftly to market demands. "India has been a pivotal market for us since the inception of Nothing. Each of our smartphones has been produced here, and we are proud to add Phone (3) to that list," stated Akis Evangelidis, Co-Founder and President of Nothing India. He emphasized the company's commitment to expanding local manufacturing, talent development, and innovation, all in harmony with the Make in India vision. He expressed excitement about the Phone (3), describing it as a significant milestone in delivering the best of Nothing to Indian consumers. In addition to manufacturing, Nothing has been actively enhancing its customer support network throughout India, operating five dedicated service centers in major cities including Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai. With over 330 authorized service points and 20 priority desks, the company plans to increase these numbers shortly. Furthermore, Nothing has expanded its offline retail presence dramatically, growing from 2,000 to 10,000 stores within just a year. Designed in London and built in India, the Phone (3) signifies Nothing's growing confidence in India's potential as a global manufacturing powerhouse. To date, the company has sold over 10 million devices across its portfolio of audio products, smartphones, and wearables, achieving a remarkable cumulative revenue of $1 billion.
