Nothing, a consumer technology firm based in London, has successfully raised $200 million in its Series C funding round, bringing the company's valuation to an impressive $1.3 billion. This substantial investment is set to fuel the company's ambitious plans to create AI-native devices and broaden its hardware ecosystem. The company envisions a future where an AI-driven operating system seamlessly integrates with hardware, delivering hyper-personalized experiences for users. Nothing argues that the current wave of smartphones has barely scratched the surface of AI capabilities, primarily limited to minor enhancements such as translation tools and photo editing. With the new funding, Nothing aims to accelerate the development of devices that are fundamentally designed to harness AI from the ground up. The company asserts, "Consumer hardware must reinvent itself for the AI era," as it sets its sights on expanding its product range, which currently includes smartphones and audio devices, to potentially include smartwatches and even smart glasses, robots, and electric vehicles in the future. The funding round was led by Tiger Global, with significant contributions from existing investors including GV, Highland Europe, EQT, Latitude, I2BF, and Tapestry. New investors, such as Nikhil Kamath and Qualcomm Ventures, also joined in. Additionally, Nothing announced intentions to initiate another Community round, allowing supporters to invest in the company’s growth trajectory.
