Google is enhancing its AI-driven research and note-taking tool, NotebookLM, by introducing a curated selection of notebooks from esteemed authors and reputable publications. Announced on Monday, this new feature allows users to delve into a variety of topics, ranging from health advice and travel tips to financial insights. The initial offerings include contributions from well-known outlets such as The Economist and The Atlantic, alongside works from academics and literary figures, including Shakespeare. This initiative aims to showcase practical examples of how NotebookLM can facilitate deeper engagement with subjects of interest. Users will have access to original source materials while also being able to pose questions, explore themes, and receive informed answers complete with citations. Additionally, features like pre-generated Audio Overviews and Mind Maps will help users navigate the content efficiently. This update builds upon a recently introduced functionality that allows users to share their notebooks publicly. Since its launch last month, Google reports that over 140,000 public notebooks have been created. Looking ahead, the company intends to broaden its collection of featured notebooks, further collaborating with The Economist and The Atlantic to enrich the user experience. The rollout of these new notebooks will begin today on the desktop version of NotebookLM.
