In a significant enhancement, Google announced on Monday that its NotebookLM platform now supports Video Overviews in 80 different languages, including popular options such as French, German, Spanish, and Japanese. This update aims to make learning more accessible for non-English speakers by allowing them to engage with visual summaries in their native tongues. Previously, the Video Overviews feature, launched just last month, was only available in English. Users could convert their notes, PDFs, and images into engaging video presentations, but this latest update broadens the potential audience considerably. Additionally, the Audio Overview feature is set to receive improvements, providing more detailed non-English audio summaries compared to the brief summaries that were previously available. The enhancements to Audio Overviews now enable users to enjoy in-depth content across more than 80 languages, moving beyond the English-centric model that existed earlier. Users will still have the option to choose shorter summaries if they prefer just the key points. These updates are tailored to support NotebookLM's diverse global user base, ensuring that everyone can learn effectively through video or audio summaries in their preferred language. Starting today, these features will be available to users worldwide, with a rollout expected to take place over the coming week.
