Spider-Noirteaser comes in colorized “True Hue” and black and white

Nicolas Cage continues to embrace his eclectic acting style with his latest project, 'Spider-Noir', a live-action series inspired by a Marvel Comics character. Set against the backdrop of 1930s New York, Cage portrays a weary private investigator who also leads a double life as a superhero. Prime Video has unveiled the first teaser in two distinct formats: a classic black and white version that evokes the spirit of Raymond Chandler, and a vibrant color rendition dubbed 'True Hue'. This approach pays homage to the original noir line created by Marvel Comics in 2009, which reimagined iconic characters in an alternate universe during the Great Depression. Cage's character, Ben Reilly, diverges from the traditional Spider-Man narrative, as the showrunners decided to step away from the youthful Peter Parker to fit the noir aesthetic. Co-showrunner Oren Uziel, a fan of film noir, found this reinterpretation appealing. Cage has already lent his voice to the Spider-Noir character in the acclaimed animated films 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' and 'Across the Spider-Verse', and he is set to reprise this role in the upcoming 'Beyond the Spider-Verse'. Describing his character, Cage stated that his performance is a blend of '70 percent Humphrey Bogart, specifically from The Big Sleep, and 30 percent Bugs Bunny', capturing the unique flair that defines Cage's acting career.
