IMC 2026: Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 to power three next-generation flagships from iQOO, Motorola, and Xiaomi

At the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, Qualcomm Technologies unveiled its cutting-edge flagship chipsets, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. These new processors promise significant advancements in artificial intelligence and overall smartphone performance. Three prominent smartphone manufacturers—Xiaomi, iQOO, and Motorola—took the opportunity to showcase their upcoming flagship models, all powered by these latest Snapdragon technologies. The devices, including the iQOO 16, Motorola Signature 27, and Xiaomi 18 Pro, are set to redefine user experience with their enhanced capabilities. During the event, Nipun Marya, CEO of iQOO, emphasized the iQOO 16 as a true flagship device, stating, "We have consciously and deliberately ensured that this is a complete flagship experience. It is not just that the performance is exceptional while other aspects feel compromised. That is not going to happen with this phone." Motorola also made a notable impression with its Signature 27 device, focusing on innovative design, superior camera quality, and extended software support. Shivam Ranjan, Head of Marketing for APAC at Motorola, declared the Signature 27 to be the company’s most powerful smartphone yet, highlighting its integration of the latest Snapdragon chipset. Xiaomi is not to be outdone; the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to feature a striking new design, enhanced camera technology, and powerful performance metrics. Gautam Batra, Associate Director of Product Marketing for Xiaomi India, shared, "With the Xiaomi 18 Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, we are taking that experience further, combining exceptional performance with innovations such as its distinctive back display." All three forthcoming flagship smartphones promise to deliver impressive performance, advanced on-device AI functionalities, improved camera experiences, and seamless software interactions, setting the stage for an exciting new era in mobile technology.
