Musk, Thiel, Bannon named in partially redacted Epstein documents released by Democrats

In a recent release of partially redacted documents linked to the late Jeffrey Epstein, prominent figures such as Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and former Trump advisor Steve Bannon have been named. This information emerged from files made public on Friday by the House Oversight Committee, which is investigating the federal government's handling of the Epstein case and that of his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in the abuse of underage girls. The controversy surrounding Epstein's case has been fueled by promises made by former President Donald Trump during his campaign to disclose government documents related to Epstein. However, after taking office, Trump has refrained from supporting the release of these files, a stance echoed by many Republicans in Congress, thereby maintaining the documents' secrecy. Friday’s release included a staggering 8,544 documents obtained through subpoenas issued in August. The House Oversight Committee indicated that these records were redacted to safeguard the identities of victims and that a thorough review is still in progress. Among the newly released materials, itineraries and notes were found that detail Epstein's interactions with various leaders in technology and business. Notably, one itinerary suggested that Musk was expected to visit Epstein's private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands in December 2014, although it remains unclear if the visit occurred. Musk has publicly stated that he declined Epstein's invitations. Earlier this year, Musk alleged on social media that Trump’s administration might be withholding Epstein-related documents to protect the former president’s reputation, asserting that this was the real reason for their continued secrecy. Additionally, the documents revealed that Epstein had breakfast with Bannon in February 2019 and lunch with Thiel in November 2017. Bannon, a close ally of Trump, and Thiel, who significantly supported Trump's 2016 campaign, were among the notable connections Epstein maintained. The files also mentioned a tentative breakfast meeting Epstein arranged with Bill Gates in December 2014, highlighting the diverse network Epstein was able to cultivate. As of now, Musk, Thiel, Bannon, and Gates have not commented on these revelations.
