Dia launches a skill gallery, Perplexity to add tasks to Comet

The promise of AI-powered browsers often paints a picture of a future where complex tasks are handled effortlessly. However, the reality is that many of these tools are still evolving to meet user needs. The Browser Company has taken a significant step forward with its Dia browser, introducing a skills feature designed to streamline repetitive tasks. This innovative feature allows users to command the browser to perform specific actions or generate code snippets based on user-defined prompts. For example, you can instruct Dia to locate intriguing local events occurring in the upcoming days. What’s more, users can save these prompts for easy access in the future through convenient shortcuts. To enhance user experience, The Browser Company has launched version 0.1 of an official skill gallery. This gallery organizes various skills by category, enabling users to easily browse and copy prompts into their personal library. Meanwhile, Perplexity is also gearing up to roll out a similar feature in its new browser, Comet. During a recent announcement, CEO Aravind Srinivas revealed that Comet will soon offer users ready-made shortcuts aimed at simplifying everyday tasks, such as organizing tabs, preparing for meetings, or discovering trending topics on social media. Additional invites for the browser will be sent out next week, and users can look forward to utilizing their browser as a personal console for enhanced productivity. Furthermore, Comet will allow users to create their own scripts using natural language prompts, akin to Tampermonkey, for various common scenarios.
