The 83rd Golden Globes turned out to be a remarkable night for streaming services, with Netflix emerging as the clear leader by clinching seven prestigious awards. In comparison, Apple TV and HBO Max each garnered three awards, while Hulu managed to take home one. Among Netflix's standout achievements, the acclaimed series "Adolescence" triumphed with four awards, including the coveted title of best limited series. The show's leading performances were also recognized, with Stephen Graham winning best actor, Owen Cooper taking home best supporting actor, and Erin Doherty awarded best supporting actress in a miniseries. Netflix's most popular title, "KPop Demon Hunters," added to the night’s success by winning both best animated feature and best original song. This impressive haul of awards coincides with Netflix's strategic move into Hollywood as it prepares to acquire Warner Bros., underscoring the platform’s growing influence in the entertainment industry. Such accolades may bolster investor confidence in Netflix’s capacity to manage a legacy entity like Warner Bros., hinting at a potentially transformative merger. On the other hand, Apple TV celebrated two wins for "The Studio," including best television series in the musical or comedy category, with Seth Rogen receiving the award for best actor in a TV series. Rhea Seehorn was also honored with the best lead actress award in a television drama for her role in “Pluribus.” HBO shone with its medical drama “The Pitt,” which secured two Golden Globes, including one for actor Noah Wylie. Meanwhile, Hulu's only victory was for Michelle Williams, who was recognized as best lead actress in a limited or anthology series for her performance in “Dying For Sex.” Despite several nominations, Hulu Originals such as “Only Murders in the Building,” “Paradise,” “Chad Powers,” and “The Bear” did not convert their nominations into wins. In a notable first, the Golden Globes introduced a best podcast category, awarded to Amy Poehler for her show "Good Hang with Amy Poehler." Other nominees included popular podcasts like Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” and “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard.”
